Kabir Nath
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERKabir Nath, Chief Executive Officer of Compass Pathways, brings a dedication to mental health care to pursue one of the most ambitious undertakings in modern psychiatry. Compass ignited his belief that profound transformation in this space was within reach. Kabir knows how fragile mental health is, and how serious mental illness can drastically impact a person’s life with little warning, including ourselves and those closest to us. That lived proximity elevated his commitment to innovation in mental health care from a professional pursuit into something closer to a life’s purpose. Joining Compass was the biggest risk of his career. It was also the most necessary.
Kabir’s career spans nearly thirty years of global biopharmaceutical and medical device experience. Prior to joining Compass, he served as President and CEO of Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s North America Pharmaceutical Business and Senior Managing Director of Global Pharmaceuticals with operational leadership across North America, Europe, Japan, and the rest of Asia. He held strategic and senior operational roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb, as well as Smith & Nephew, where early roles across Asia first shaped his approach to leading multi-cultural teams toward a common mission. Kabir began his career in strategy consulting at Booz Allen & Hamilton. He holds an MA from King’s College, University of Cambridge, and an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD. Kabir also serves on the Board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Kabir believes that when you unite exceptional talent, remarkable things are possible. He sees our people as the foundation of our success and fosters a culture of openness to share our own mental health journeys and uplift one another in doing so. He empowers all at Compass to pursue the most ambitious and incredibly important work: bringing forth a fundamentally different approach to treating severe mental illnesses, one that can unlock new pathways to be. For Kabir, this purpose is a journey to remove barriers and constraints, unlocking a world of opportunities, openness, and possibilities—as much for the people we aim to serve as those within our own walls.
Compass has the potential to make one of the greatest leaps in mental health. We have the courage and ambition to turn our purpose into patients’ reality and are taking bold, decisive steps to make it happen.
